Omega-3 fatty acids found in certain fish can help protect against age-related macular degeneration (AMD), but scientists have found that results are determined by what stage the disease is in and whether individuals take supplements. Researchers at the Laboratory for Nutrition and Vision Research (LNVR) at Tufts University explained their findings in a study published online ahead of the print edition of the British Journal of Ophthalmology.
